PRESENTING OUR SPRING PERFORMANCE PROGRAM
"Once Upon A Princess"

PRINCESS CASTLE

SYNOPSIS: Meari  Mayflower  loves her home by the sea, but she longs to go to the annual Sea Mist Ball and dance with one of the princes. How can she get there, she isn’t a princess or part of the royal court? Then mysteriously Meari is asked by the queen to come to the palace to make the ball gowns for the princesses. Helped by the whimsical fairies “Purely Purples” and guided by the "Magna Mist", she creates beautiful gowns and catches the eye of a prince. Will she get to dance at the ball too? The audience will follow Meari as she learns that believing in yourself is more important than wishing for the impossible. The production lasts approximately one hour and will delight audiences of all ages in the quest to find happily ever afters.

What is  the performance program ?
Most dance centers have what is called a “yearly recital”, or a variety show performance venue for students to perform in after they have studied at a facility for an entire year. Some studios have a holiday show, in many cases a “Nutcracker” Performance, started on Cape Cod by Virginia Zango, a former member of the Boston Ballet.

In the past few years parents with school age children have become used to having their children be involved in multiple activities, many prefer not to have their child focus on just one after school activity. Accepting this trend, KidzLinx has decided to hold two performances a year, one in the spring, and another in the fall. “Once Upon A Princess” , a children's play written by our executive director Jann Davis, who a many know was an English teacher, is our first performance. Limited to six dance routines and an hour in length, students may choose this workshop session for a ten week period if they wish to be in the dance sections of the performance. The classes will focus on just the performance choreography, utilizing skills learned in our danz levelz classes. An additional February Vacation Kamp session will be held that will focus on the choral speaking roles, making props and costumes, and additional dance routines.

Can anyone join the workshop?

Each specific dance routine will be limited to a specific pre-set number of students, and therefore enrollment is limited  for this performance. We are offering an acting class for students who wish speaking parts, jazz, cheer dance, hip hop, ballet, dance team and ballroom for students who wish to be supporting cast or character cast members. Please contact us for specific information.

If children choose just to dance and not be part of this performance what is their choice?

Danzlevelz and Klub classes will continue to be offered as specified on the facility schedule.

Performances for those classes will continue to be held the last day of the each klub session.

Where will the performance be held?

We are researching various performance venues in the area that have performance auditorium facilities.

Will the students be costumed?

Yes there are costuming and specific shoe requirements, just as other facilities offer. Specific information is available to parents upon registration.
